Records Management Coordinator (Salary - DOQ)
Public Utility District No. 1 of Cowlitz County (better known as Cowlitz PUD) is a publicly owned
municipal corporation of the State of Washington. The purpose of this municipal corporate organization
is for efficient generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy. The PUD is owned by the
residents of Cowlitz County and operates on revenues from the sales of its services. The PUD has
limited statutory authority to levy taxes.
The Records Management Coordinator position reports to the General Counsel/Director of
Administrative Services, in a regulatory compliance role. The incumbent shall manage all aspects of
records retention and management, to include but not be limited to: 1. Recommending policy adoption
and ensuring internal compliance. 2. Obtaining training regarding records management and informing
constituencies regarding obligations. 3. Preparing reports regarding compliance, such as but not limited
to, deficiencies, plans, budget necessary for full compliance, etc. He or she shall supervise, organize,
schedule, and perform records management functions, including storage, retrieval, retention, and
destruction in compliance with Federal and Washington State law; to represent the District in dealings
with State, legal and other agencies, as directed and needed; Working with the General Counsel he or
she shall recommend and implement approved strategies to meet business, legal and regulatory
requirements for records management and compliance; protect the integrity, security, and
confidentiality of all documents and records; and ensure the District meets the requirements of the
Public Records Act of the State of Washington.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration required or an Associate’s degree with equivalent
experience in a Utility setting may be substituted. Five (5) years of progressive Records Management or
general office experience in high-volume, detail-oriented environment including experience with both
physical and electronic records management software programs required. Experience at an electric
utility or public agency subject to similar regulations is highly preferred. Experience with Electronic
Discovery and Storage is strongly preferred.
